Have you ever wondered what single guys in Dallas think about dating and relationships? Look no further because we have you covered. We are interviewing tons of amazing guys to get their opinions! First up, our friend Ryan. We know you’ll love him.
Where did you go to school?
Rockwall High School — Texas A&M University
What do you do for a living?
Commercial Insurance Broker
What is your favorite hobbies?
Anything outside. Being on the lake, golf, crossfit, drinking on a patio.
Who is your favorite designer or where do you like to shop?
I’m pretty laid back when it comes to clothes. I’ll shop anywhere from TJ Maxx or Stein Mart to Nordstrom and J-Hilburn. If I’m not working you will probably find me in boots and jeans or a pair of flip flops and shorts.
What three words describe you?
Outgoing, Ambitious, Easygoing
What music are you listening to now?
I pretty much listen to everything. It just depends on my mood and what I am doing at the time.
What is your favorite food or favorite place to eat?
I’m an Italian Texas Boy. If there is a restaurant that serves up pizza with a side of chips and salsa, then please steer me that direction.
What is the sexiest quality in a woman?
I spend a lot of time in social settings in and out of work. So with that being said, a girl who can hold her own in a conversation is extremely sexy. If I have to walk you around like a little puppy then it’s probably not going to work. If I leave you at a event and next thing I know your “shootin the bull” with whoever, then you’re a keeper in my books.
What is the biggest turnoff in a woman?
Not having motivation or drive to be someone. Women that have “ideas” of who they want to be are completely different than women who have goals and are ambitious about accomplishing them.
What is your dating deal breaker?
What’s your idea of a perfect date?
I’m not giving away any secrets. If you are lucky, then you’ll find out.
What do women need to know about men?
We tend to speak our mind and forget things. It’s not on purpose, God just wired us that way.
Thanks for the chat, Ryan!
Summer is here and everyone in Dallas will be looking for ways to stay cool and refreshed! I recently engineered myself a delicious cocktail that fits the bill!
2 oz vodka (I like a Citron vodka, myself)
Splash of Grand Marnier (or Cointreau)
Lemonade (I found a delicious organic lemonade. Makes me feel like I’m drinking responsibly)
Club Soda (I love a bubbly cocktail. . . especially for no extra calories)
Lime juice (or lime wedge)
Squeeze the lime over ice and add vodka and Grand Marnier. I like to add the club soda next, and then top off with lemonade. Give a good stir and a taste test! Next, carry your cocktail to a lovely outdoor location to enjoy and feel refreshed! But be warned: I could drink this by the pitcher. OOOh, maybe I’ll try making a pitcher of these next, Suzanne, Tif?! Hurry home for a pitcher!!
I haven’t thought of a name for my new favorite summer cocktail! If you have an good idea for a name, send us a comment!
Whoo Hoo, it is festival time! Tomorrow, I will be hopping on a plane and traveling to the farm in Manchester, Tennesse. Bonnaroo Baby! I stopped by my favorite boutique and had Jana Mathena, owner of Gameday Cloth, help me find a few fab outfits for the festival.
Chaser Brand “Sting Portrait” $62.00
(Sting is sooo hot, I think I might just stare at my shirt all day long) :)
James Jeans Shorty Genevieve $145.00
The Classic “Wild Roses Forever” $25.00
This adorbs tank has a cute peak-a-boo back. Bralettes from Hanky Panky are the perfect undergarment for this top.
Knitted Aztec Vest $36.00
James Jeans Twiggy Tapestry Jean $176.00
Pink fringe vest is from Ella Bleu, Shops of Legacy
Chaser “Lion Face” tank $59.00
I know what you might be thinking about this tank, because it is exactly what I’m thinking while I’m wearing it….RAWRR! Haha!
James Jeans Shorty – Slouchy Fit Boy Shorts in Barbados $145
Hari Mari Flip Flops $80.00
I have hit the jackpot finding these flip-flops made by Hari Mari. I have been searching high and low for a “comfy” pair of flippys to wear to the festival that would last with me all day. I know most festival goers wear Chacos, but I find them to be big, heavy and just plain ugly. Not only are Hari Mari flip flops stylish and comfortable, they are a great local company. To help fight Pediatric Cancer, Hari Mari gives $3 for every pair purchased. Bravo Hari Mari, you are the bomb! Love them!
Thank you Jana AGAIN for hooking me up and getting me Bonnarro ready! This HOH girl is fired up and ready to hit the farm!

I packed for my weekend getaway and managed one carry-on and one personal item. Some of you might think this is not news worthy, but trust me, this HOH girl usually brings enough shoes to fill an entire suitcase. How did I accomplish this feat? Turns out it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be and I still managed to pack a week’s worth of costume changes.
The PGA Tour came to town this week with the first round of the Byron Nelson Championship starting tomorrow. But everybody knows that in Dallas, Friday is the day to see and be seen at the Nelson. You would think after the countless times I’ve attended the tournament, nothing would surprise me. Not the case. Good or bad, I am always a bit shocked at the attire chosen by so many women. Since golf is a gentleman’s sport, I am going to help the ladies keep it classy at the Nelson.
But first, a few tips:
1. Don’t wear stilettos, platforms or any other shoe that is meant for a night on the town. Whether you are staying in the Pavilion, attending one of the many VIP parties around the course or simply following your favorite golfers, you will be walking, A LOT. There is nothing attractive about a woman hobbling around because her feet hurt or even worst, taking a spill after too many cocktails.
2. Leave your jorts, mini skirts and tiny dresses at home. These items are just not appropriate for any golfing event. And frankly, when you wear them, you look less than classy.
3. Don’t carry a big handbag. It may seem like you need to carry a ton of stuff with you throughout the day, but if you really need more than lipgloss, a compact, an ID and money, you are high maintenance and need to rethink your choice for entertainment.
Now that we know what you aren’t going to wear, we can put together a polished, classic look that will get you noticed.
J.Crew has great shorts that can be paired with a variety of tops. Whether you feel more comfortable in a pair of chino-style shorts, offered in a variety of lengths, or the refined cotton matelasse’ short, they have you covered.
J.Crew Mixed Matelasse’ Short, $98
J.Crew Boy Shirt, $78
J.Crew Carrie Cami, $98
If dresses are more your style, keep it simple with clean lines and appropriate lengths.
J.Crew Arrow Print Shift Dress, $98
J.Crew Stripe Back-Zip Dress, $128
Pair cute sandals, with either a low or flat heel, or sporty slip-ons with your outfit and you will stay comfortable all day!
J.Crew Rio Metallic Sandal, $50
A statement necklace, simple earrings and an “arm party” will complete your classic look. If you are feeling extra sassy, grab a fashion forward hat, like a fedora or panama hat, and don’t forget your sunglasses!
See you at the Nelson!
Every time I pull out my beach bag, I get very excited! It means the beach, or relaxing poolside, is in the very near future! Tiffany and I are getting ready for an HOH adventure to the beautiful island of Nevis. Check out my beach bag must have essentials.
I just love the Elta MD products. Elta protects your skin against the sun’s damaging UVA and UVB rays. Using a ultra-durable form of zinc oxide, Elta MD supplies long-lasting protection against damage that can lead to premature signs of aging, hyperpigmentation and even skin cancer.
This powder gives you protection from sun damage with a soft focus finish. I like to apply the Elta MD Facial sunscreen as my base and then use the Colorescience Mineral Suncreen throughout the day. It has a self-dispensing powder brush which makes it easy to re-apply all day for continued coverage.
3. Beach Jewels
Don’t forget to take your arm party to the beach! A sparkly arm is a perfect accessory to a itty bitty bikini.
Aviator’s are a classic style and look great on just about everyone. Tory Burch makes a bad a$$ aviator. Make sure you buy a pair that is polarized. Polarized sunglasses have a special coating that helps reduce glare from reflective surfaces. Objects are much clearer and the harmful effects of glare on the eyes are reduced.
5. Floppy Hat
Usually I kick it with a baseball hat at the beach. Since we will be in Nevis, I have to be extra fancy and wear my big floppy hat, aka my JLO hat! One thing that is great about this hat is that it is packable and bounces right back to its original shape.
6. IPhone and IPad
This is really a no-brainer. Does anyone ever go anywhere without these two beloved items? Our dependence on gadgets has made their presence at the beach or poolside a regular occurrence (just make sure you keep them dry).
Pull together some of these beach bag essentials for yourself and tuck them in a fab beach tote.
I hope Nevis can handle a couple of crazy girls from Texas! Nevis, consider yourself warned….it will be fun!
Spring is here! Or at least it was here a couple days ago, and I feel certain it will be back in a minute. And with that in mind. . .
Hemlines are retreating, toes are peeping, skin is showing and it’s nearly time for shorts! Shorts make me so happy! (Almost as happy as jeans, but that’s a different article.). I did a little short shopping this week and there are so many cute styles and colors for spring! There are a myriad of casual shorts, preppy shorts, dressy shorts, beachy shorts. . . I’m telling you, the Short has come a long way in versatility; there’s one for every occasion. And all my favorite shops have a huge variety to choose from. Here are some of my favorites!
First stop is Express where I easily found 8 pairs of shorts I could be in a committed relationship with, BUT I whittled it down to 3 because I know how valuable your time is!
These I love! How fancy! I love making shorts dressy and elegant. I’d put these with a slinky black top and strappy heels, and go on a date with my husband!
I know, I haven’t heard the word ‘skort’ used in many years, either. And I seem to remember it described something not that cute, but THESE, on the other hand are very fun! Skirt in the front, shorts in the back; what’s not to love? And I’m a big fan of the asymmetrical detail in front!
I saw this cute little number in Michael Kors, and I could actually hear the gold studs singing, “Take us straight to Tiffany!” True story.
In my opinion, some of the best all-around shorts come from J. Crew. I’ve been a fan of their chino short for a long time. It wears great and is very flattering. And there is truly one for everyone. This year they have the chino in 10 shades of Spring-y fun colors, AND you can get it in a 3″, 4″, 5″, 7″ or 9″ inseam. Literally, in whatever length you’re most comfortable.
Sometimes, the best pair of shorts isn’t a pair of shorts at all. I am referring, of course, to the cropped pant which gets to enjoy many long hours out of the closet as it takes us seamlessly from Spring thru Summer and into Fall.
The Gap has a great pair of cropped pants that comes in a variety of colors and styles including seersucker (SEERSUCKER!!) I think these work so nicely with sandals or heels or even flip flops and a cute top when it’s a little too chilly for shorts, or shorts aren’t quite right for your event.
White House Black Market also has very cute cropped pants this season! I’m a big fan of this cute utility pant. It’s like a cargo pant, but super lady-like!
So, me and my new shorts will be waiting until the warm weather swings back into Dallas. According to my super-spy weather app, that should hopefully be just in time for Easter weekend! Fingers crossed!
We are head over heels in love with Gameday Cloth’s Denim Bar! We spent the day with Jana Mathena, Owner of Gameday Cloth, and tried on all of spring’s hot new denim styles! From comfy “boyfriend” denim to sexy skinny jeans, we found styles and colors that are perfect for the season.
Check out our favorites of the day!
Special thanks to Jana for setting us up in style! Stop by Gameday Cloth’s Denim Bar for your own new spring look! Tell Jana we sent you!

If you are looking for a new workout to switch up your regular routine, then FlyBarre at FlyWheel is for you. But I must warn you, this workout is a killer!
FlyBarre is a total body sculpting class that blends the best of light weight training, dance, and core strengthening exercises. Using small intense interval exercises choreographed to immersive and inspiring music, FlyBarre quickly reshapes the body for lean, strong, and elongated muscles.
Classes are highly energetic, fast-paced, and fun. They change the routines frequently and use a wide variety of props to tighten muscles and keep things interesting.
Kelly Hershman, FlyBarre instructor
The HOH Girls took Kelly’s FlyBarre class at the Plano location. Let me just say that she is a beast! I will be totally honest….It. Is. Not. Easy. Never before have such small movements caused so much pain. But hey, no pain, no gain, right? I heard that the Victoria Secret models use this exercise to keep in shape. So if it’s good enough for the Angels, it’s good enough for the HOH girls!
Trust me ladies, if you want a beach ready body by summertime, I suggest taking this class. See you around the studio!
